In relation to domestic violence/abuse all the information applies to everyone however in relation to ethnic minorities there are a number of additional issues to consider/take into account such as forced marriages, extended families living together, there may be a language barrier for seeking help, there may be transport issues to seek help, there may be fear of authorities or agencies (I have been told on many occasions by victim/survivor’s of domestic violence who are from third world countries; that the Police are to be feared, due to the violence and aggression they show and also the lack of faith in other agencies.
